Old time music frolic with food. The tradition is where musicians for at least 2 weeks before Christmas and up till the 6th of Jan. (Old Christmas), would gather each night at a different location to play music and dance. We at Phipps Farm and store glad to carry on this yearly event. Immediately after the parade, EVERYONE is invited to a no-cost, community 'Food for ALL' meal beside Tubelos on King Street in Boone. We will provide warm homemade veggie soup, bread, trail-mix & water...come out & join in the fun!

A 45-minute DVD will be shown at the New River State Park Visitor Center by Allmuth “Curly” Perzel . Follow this scenic video as it takes you through the mountains of Oregon, California, and Washington State for over 2600 miles. Curly’s show will take you, by way of music and photos, on her exciting adventure, hiking the 2,638 mile Pacific Crest Trail. This program is free and open to the public, and will begin at 7:00pm.

Join a park ranger on a short hike (approximately 30 minutes) to look at the evergreens growing at New River State Park. Participants will meet at the Hwy 221 Access Visitor center. Wear warm clothing and appropriate footwear for walking on trails. After the hike we will go back to the Visitor Center to make a forever-green craft.
