    Latest Update: June 18, 2008

Everything you need to catch the BIG one is right here!!

    Whats Working:
The Wildlife Commission has done a great job of stocking the Delayed Harvest Waters and there has been several good reports of bigger fish being caught on the lower sections of the Watauga river in the Delayed Harvest section.

    Tips, Stories, Info:
The month of June has proven to be a good month for the trout fisherman. We have received more rain this year then last year and the fish are much more active. Early morning trips and late evening trips work best this time of year. For the fly fisherman try throwing yellow sallys and yellow sulphers about a size 16 or 18. Now is also a good time to start fishing ant and beetle imitations. The ants are now in the trees and on a good windy day they can very easily get blown in the water and guess who gorges themselves when this happens. Ant fly patterns can be deadly this time of year!!! Good luck and Great Fishing!!!

    Foscoe Fishing Company/Orvis Fishing Schools:
We have new dates for our 2008 fly fishing schools. Please contact us for school scheduling. School includes two full days of instructions all gear and lunch each day. In order to be eligible for the class you must make a reservation at least two weeks in advance of the desired school date. Please call 828-963-6556 for additional info.
